Informational Meeting on Prestigious National Scholarships

Come have pizza and learn about applying for prestigious national scholarships on Thursday, March 26th in the Laurel Room of the Mountainlair from 4:30 – 6:00 PM.

Any WVU student with at least a 3.8 GPA who is interested in competing for a Rhodes, Marshall, Mitchell, Gates, or Fulbright Scholarship is invited to this informational meeting hosted by the ASPIRE Office.

Dr. Lisa DeFrank-Cole, Director of the ASPIRE Office and Dr. Lisa DiBartolomeo, Marshall Scholar and Coordinator of WVU’s Slavic and Eastern European Studies Program, will inform candidates about how to prepare for and begin the application process.

Rhodes
Rhodes Scholarships fund tuition, travel, and living expenses for up to three years of undergraduate or graduate study in any field at the University of Oxford. Seniors and graduate students, no older than 24, are eligible to apply.

Marshall
George C. Marshall Scholarships provide tuition and personal stipends to students to pursue a graduate degree in any field at any British college or university for two years. Seniors and graduate students with at least a cumulative GPA of 3.7 (after the freshman year) are eligible to apply.

Mitchell
George Mitchell Scholarships award full tuition, travel, and personal stipends for one year to students wishing to pursue graduate study in any field in Ireland or Northern Ireland. Seniors and graduate students, no older than 30, are eligible to apply.

Gates
Gates Scholarships award full tuition and fees, travel, and living expenses for students who are interested in pursuing one and two-year undergraduate and graduate programs at the University of Cambridge. Seniors and graduate students are eligible to apply.

Fulbright
J. William Fulbright Scholarships enable students to spend a year studying, researching or teaching abroad in one of more than 100 countries. In general, transportation, living expenses, language training, and tuition are covered: details vary by country. Senior and graduate students who do not yet hold a doctorate degree are eligible to apply.
