Personal Statement Workshop

Zachary | October 15th, 2009

Honors students: Please read the post below for an exciting opportunity to perfect your personal statement for scholarships, fellowships, and grad school.

The WVU Writing Center is holding a personal statement workshop for those applying to Graduate or Professional school. The workshop will be held on Wednesday, November 4th from 5:00-6:30 in the WVU Writing Center (G02 Colson Hall).

Graduate and Professional school applicants are encouraged to attend in order to develop ideas for writing a personal statement or for help in revising existing statements.

Dr. Brian Ballentine, Coordinator of the Professional Writing and Editing program, will be on hand to discuss the essential strategies for writing an effective personal statement. Writing Center tutors will be available to assist students, whether they are brainstorming ideas for their own future statements or hoping to polish a nearly complete draft.

To register or gather more information, contact Bryan Coyle at bcoyle@mix.wvu.edu. Space is limited, so please register by October 25th.
