Upward Bound Tutors

Zachary | September 5th, 2008

The Honors College has received news of an exciting new paid opportunity for WVU students. Read on . . .

“We are seeking active WVU undergraduate and graduate students to serve as tutors for the WVU Upward Bound group. Our program serves up to 50 students in Preston, Tucker, and Monongalia counties. Ideally, our tutors are successful students attuned to the special needs of our groups (low-income and first generation). Tutors will be working in individual and small group settings with students in grades 9-12 in a variety of subject areas/levels (for example, a tutor may be responsible for working with students in Pre-Algebra and Trig). All tutoring will be done at local schools and Upward Bound staff provide all transportation. Additional information about our program and its objectives are available at http://upwardbound.wvu.edu. Applications are available at this site; pay is $8.50 per hour.”
