For First Year Students Only

Dear Honors College, First-year Student,

We are writing to inform you about a program entitled MedBOUND

and an opportunity to take part in this experience at WVU. This innovative program takes a few, select, first-year students who are interested in becoming physicians, and starts the process of education and learning during the freshman year of college. Are you interested in becoming a doctor? Would you like to know now that you are automatically going to WVU medical school in four years?

If you are accepted into MedBOUND, you will have acceptance into medical school provided you complete the program requirements. You may study in any major, but you must complete our requirements, which include a significant number of biology classes and a requirement for a foreign language. You will have an Honors level class every semester in preparation for becoming a doctor. You will be expected to maintain high grades and professionalism. If you are interested, we will host an informational meeting on October 16 at 6:30 pm in the Glass Lounge of Stalnaker Hall and hand out applications.

We have a website that also gives information about this program. Visit: http://admissions.wvu.edu/undergraduate/medbound.asp. The selection process will be truncated as compared with the traditional MedBOUND application timeline. You can call or email Dr. DeFrank-Cole in the Honors College if you have questions at 304-293-2100 or lisa.defrank-cole@mail.wvu.edu
