Presenting: "The Dead Sea Scrolls: What They Really Say"
The Honors College is pleased to announce that we have received news of a special event being sponsored by the Pi Lambda Phi Jewish Studies Lectureship.
Hershel Shanks, author of The Mystery and Meaning of the Dead Sea Scrolls, Ancient Israel: From Abraham to the Roman Destruction of the Temple, and Christianity and Rabbinic Judaism: A Parallel History of Their Origins and Early Development – among other notable works – will be presenting a public lecture as a part of Diversity Week 2007. Dr. Shanks’ lecture will be held on Monday, 15 October 2007, at 8 PM in the Rhododendron Room of the MountainLair.
What a great opportunity for all of us Honors folks! I encourage everyone to enjoy this exciting look at Biblical archaeology, history, and religion. A reception and book signing with Dr. Shanks will follow the lecture.
