30th Anniversary Events
The West Virginia University Center for Women’s Studies is advertising a position for an intern who will help plan and coordinate activities for the 30th anniversary of the Center during the 2009/2010 academic year. This person should be currently enrolled as a WVU student with a background in women’s studies and/or a commitment to social justice issues. The position is part-time (10-15 hours per week depending on need and availability) with a pay rate of $10 per hour. The internship will start during the fall 2009 semester. The person should have the ability to perform the following tasks:
1) Develop and communicate information about the events and activities associated with the anniversary
through the WMST website
a. Develop a blog and Facebook page to communicate with WMST constituents
b. Organize and post images and documents associated with the Center’s history
Update calendar and communication with university members
2) Assist in research about the history of the Center through communication with current and past members
(faculty, directors, alumni, WV Alliance, etc.)
a. Develop archival materials for presentations and display
3) Develop brochures, announcements, and other publicity for events and activities
a. Utilize graphic design skills
b. Work with news and information office to advertise events
Possess strong writing and speaking skills with and for diverse populations
4) Organize travel and other logistics for speakers, visitors, and participants in the scheduled activities
a. Arrange flights, hotels, and meals for visitors
b. Schedule activities on campus
Able to work independently and cooperatively

Trunk-or-Treat
Honors Student Association will be hosting a car at Trunk-or-Treat this year! If you’re interested in helping pass out candy to cute, dressed up kids, email me ASAP as HSA@mail.wvu.edu so I can get an accurate count.
Oct. 19th is the last day to order Honors College apparel
October 19th is the last day to order t-shirts, sweatshirts, and sweatpants. Stop by the office to place an order on or before that date. Designs include Talk Nerdy to Me, Go Geek, and the Honors Hall Crest.
ISO International Tea and Mentorship Program Kickoff!

The Registration Priority dates for Honors Students is as follows:
Honors Seniors: Tuesday, October 20 beginning at 7:00 AM.
Honors Juniors: Wednesday, October 21 beginning at 8:00 AM.
Honors Sophomores: Thursday, October 22 beginning at 8:00 AM.
Honors Freshmen: Friday, October 23 beginning at 8:00 AM.
WVSOM Open House
Honors students: The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine will be holding an house on their Lewisburg campus this fall. Join their representatives on Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM to learn about exciting post-graduation opportunities in the field of osteopathic medicine.
